My gardens are all doing great.
Surely, I’m not the only Gardening Enthusiast in Warwick.

    • You sure aren’t Patricia. Our gardens are a bit overgrown and need help. We are currently fighting with a severe case of Japanese stilt grass which threaten’s to overtake the area (we live in Amity) and we still haven’t gotten rid of the sumac. At this point we are looking forward to next spring.

      • LOL Mark. I’ve gotten Poison Ivy twice already this year, just weeding my flower beds.
It finds its way into everything, practically unnoticed.

Kudos to the Warwick Valley Gardeners for the beautiful seasonal decorations at RR Green!

    • Thank you! There are about 60 of us in the Club — we’re all friendly and welcome new members. (You don;t have to be an expert gardener. Just have an interest and a willingness to give back to our community.) We have public meetings several times a year and I’ll begin posting them here.

This is my first time posting on the NEW Commonplace.
It’s so nice to have a gardening forum here. After reading through the messages, it seems it’s not very active right now. I hope things pick up in the spring!

Does anyone know a landscaper that specializes in invasive species? We have a serious sumac problem.

Anyone willing to divide/share some lilies of the valley? Thank you.

    • Susanne, Do you mean the large orange ones that grow wildly along the side of the road or are those another type of Lily? I think lilies of the valley may be those smaller white bell shape flowers? Let me know, because I have a lot of the former in front of my house that I have been dividing up.

      • I just posted this for fun while we were testing the site yesterday, but appreciate your “real” response, Rosemary. I mean the ones with little white fragrant bell shaped flowers that bloom in May.

        • Oh…this is fun isn’t it? Well if you ever need any of those orange lily like flowers that grown along the side of the road, just let me know.

    • Yes I have some you can have as well as variegated mint and yellow irises, not the bearded that flop over but the flag ones that can grow in boggy areas… Free of course…

      • Thank you, Nancy. Our property is rather wooded and I was actually looking for the small white fragrant lilies of the valley that grow in shaded ares and bloom beginning of May.

    • If you really want some, we have them. They do spread!
